It does not make the work exposure-free or the disturbed material immediately urushiol-free, and poison ivy may resprout from roots left in the soil, so monitoring or follow-up may be needed.
Our remote-controlled mulcher is operated from a distance rather than from a cab on the machine, which reduces the need for anyone to hand-cut or hand-pull poison ivy. The mulching head cuts vines, stems, and accessible root crowns at ground level, immediately reducing visible growth. Urushiol can remain on cut or dead plants, clothing, tools, and equipment, so disturbed material should be treated as potentially contaminated. Mechanical mulching is vegetation reduction and control, not a one-pass eradication guarantee. We do not apply herbicide.
